About Counselling & CBT
Our work together will be a place where we can work together to look at issues that have been troubling you in a non-judgemental and confidential space; to explore the feelings that you may find too difficult or confusing to discuss with family and friends. Being trained in psychodynamic counselling and CBT I offer a bespoke approach to supporting you, drawing on my knowledge, skills and training to best fit with your approach and the challenges you're facing at this time. If you'd like to know a little more about the differences between CBT, counselling and psychotherapy take a look at the link here

When you contact me to make an appointment I will arrange a convenient time for us to meet. At the end of this first session, you can consider whether you feel that we can work together effectively. It is important that you choose to work with a therapist that you will be able to build a trusting relationship with.
If after this first session you decide that you would like us to work together then I will offer you a regular appointment (usually weekly), whilst we are working together this time of the week will be yours. Therapy is most effective when you come on a regular basis. If you work commitments don't allow this then we can work together to find a way for you to receive regular support.
Therapy can be hard work but extremely rewarding. There may be times during our work together when you find the counselling painful or uncomfortable and you feel like it would be easier not to think about areas of your life that cause you distress. That’s OK and it’s really useful to persevere at these times and be honest about what’s happening so that I can offer you support and we can work together to understand your difficulties.
